Wall as a Point of Transition: Atul S.M.

The second minor task of the second semester studio dealt with redesigning a high, blank compound wall to negotiate between the public realm of the street and the semi-public courtyard shared by a group of houses. The studio encouraged working on multiple iterations. The final submission format for the exercise was a single sheet in which all iterations were to be represented as axonometric drawings. The sheet captures the process of the exercise: From the initial exploration of different ideas to the narrowing-down and refinement of one final idea. The drawing was hand-drafted on an A1 cartridge sheet using 2H Pencils, inked using 0.3 and 0.1 pigment liners and coloured using water-colour pencils and a brush-pen.

This graphic was made for an AD02 Studio conducted in 2019 by R Kiran Kumar, Kavana Kumar, Harsha Nayak and Nayantara Harindranath.
