Working of the Fabric Weaving Workshop: Anish Bhargav

This semester required us to design a small-scale industry with a focus on sustainable architecture and construction methods. Choosing to work with vernacular brick construction resulted in the scale of the spaces dictated by the size of the brick vaults. The same vaults had to house varied activities ranging from handloom weaving and crotchet to kitchen-dining and accommodation. Making this drawing to this level of detail allowed me to not only understand the amount of space available for handloom weaving, provide adequate room for the machines and storage but also provided clarity on the construction detail and climactic response to the harsh climate of Anegundi.
The basic orthographic drawings were made on AutoCAD before being rendered and annotated on Adobe Illustrator. The drawing is kept simple to make it easy to read while the annotations provide key pieces of information.
