The illustration depicts the building that was designed for my thesis titled “Theatre of resistance”, in its immediate surroundings in the dense central region of the city of Bangalore.
Echoing a few features from the architectural vocabulary of the Town Hall (to the left) and Ravindra Kala Kshetra, a performing arts theatre (to the right), the Media Center simultaneously blends in and stands out.
By formulating a program that lets its public aspect delve into the idea of social awareness, commentary, action and its cultural manifestations, the building becomes the perfect metaphorical and literal intersection between politics and art, aiming to create a democratic space for the people of Bangalore.
This drawing was made as part of the Thesis Studio conducted in 2024.
