About

Architectural drawings have been a great source of representing one’s thoughts and ideas. Design ideas have the potential to be represented in multiple and diverse ways. In many instances, drawings also draw the lens towards what is important. They have the capacity to simplify complex ideas by presenting themselves as different layers of analysis. The process and evolution of a design can be understood through graphical representations. Certain methods of drawings can also be a supportive exercise for other narratives.

In many ways, drawings on one side of the spectrum convey stories and sequences of experiences through abstractness, while accurate technical drawings aid in practice and transforming ideas into reality on the other spectrum. Considering these merits of architectural representations, it becomes important for WCFA, Mysuru as an institution to archive curated works through contributions from students, faculty, and alumni. Hence, the archive primarily becomes a testimonial for ways of visualizing a space.
