The Chow Chow Bath emerges as an urban framework that responds to the layered and evolving identity of Koramangala rather than imposing a singular one. Situated within a neighbourhood shaped by overlapping cultures, economies, generations, and lifestyles, the project reinterprets architecture as an open structure capable of hosting coexistence. Through its exposed structural grid and adaptable programmatic layering, the proposal creates a platform where recreation, work, commerce, gathering, and everyday life intersect and continuously transform one another. Instead of functioning as a static object in the city, the building gives back to its people by offering spaces for appropriation, encounter, and public ownership—allowing Koramangala’s diverse communities to see themselves reflected within it. Its structural language becomes more than construction; it becomes identity. The visible framework acts as an urban marker that celebrates incompleteness, flexibility, and participation, turning the project into an icon not through monumentality, but through its ability to remain open, absorb change, and evolve alongside the city itself.
